Artist's Statement

My work involves utilizing and experimenting with various mark-making methods. This process allows me to build up environments and atmosphere while incorporating scenes of detritus, recycled waste, and excessiveness, along with my own lexicon of imagery. I create an amalgamation of different processes to let them synergize or, in contrast, let them clash to further immerse the chaos that typically comprises my work. My approach is to construct and deconstruct, let this repetition produce something new, and reflect themes of decay and renewal. Through printmaking and drawing, I question the relation between abstract space and the tangibility of physical objects.
